You Dont Know Me
You give your hand to me, And then you say hello
I can hardly speak, My heart is beating so
And anyone can tell, You think you know me well, Butyou don't know me
Oh you don't know the one, That thinks of you at night
Who longs to kiss your lips And yearns to squeeze you tight
NoI'm just a friend, That's all I've ever been, You just don't know me
I never knew the art of making love, Though my heart aches withlove for you
Afraid and shy, I let my chance go by
The chance that you might love me too
You give your hand to me, And then you say goodbye
I watch you walk away, Beside the lucky guy
You'll never, neverknow The one who loves you so
You just don't know me
I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy, I let my chance go by. The chance that you might love me too
You give your hand to me And then you say goodbye
I watch you walkaway, Beside the lucky guy
Who'll never, never know The one who loves you so
You just don't know me

We had our Xmas Party yesterday. The one sight that la-di-da me was when one of my patients was visited by his Dad. My patient has autism and is about 40 y.o. His parents visit him maybe max of four per year. This is due to some reasons (age, health, weather and travelling could be some of those).
Anyways, the look on his face when he was told that his Dad was there was moving, just awesome, it was really nice. He was smiling, really excited, you could just see it on him... He ran from one end of the corridor (with respect to him, he is a BIT big). So just imagine in the Old Testament when Moses openned the Sea, all of us walking on the hallway had to move aside to give him way and also, so that we wouldnt be knocked over by him.. hehe.. But my patient really enjoyed every moment he had with his Dad yesterday.
The objective why I shared it?
To tell everyone that there is still MAGIC in Christmas!
We all know that the freaking Santa Clause isn't real, and there are no effin' reindeers flying. So for crying out loud, the flipping magic that we are looking for is the celebrations that we do every December. One, everyone appears to be nice to everybody. It's the time to be nice to people you couldn't stand all year.
Two, we receive surprises and gifts (regardless of the price, it's still exciting). And third, REUNIONS. We see people we sometimes didn't care for the whole f*cking year! That's why December/Christmas is extra ordinary... It's because at this time, we give extra, we spend a bit more, we make other people special...
Usually, we tend to think less of ourself during the holidays. And that makes it magical.
Im really proud of where I work. With the help of my boss (hello Ruth David Linda B.), she always ensure that we uphold respect, give choice, variety and community presence in caring for our service users. So I can say that where I work, It's Christmas everyday.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
